- Quarter sawn oak
- Top surface has been refinished for durability. The rest of the old finish has been cleaned and preserved with a coat of clear varnish
- Dings, mars, losses, stains, and shrinkage separations from age - see photos
- Brass hardware & feet are original
- Deep drawers have dovetail joints
