Bombe Burl Carved Antique Queen Size Bed

This elegant queen-size bed has flowing and graceful lines, and is richly hand-carved at the edges with "bombe" or convex panels of walnut burl. This is dramatic and artistic Northern Italian villa furniture was crafted about 1910 with exquisite workmanship.

The original satiny finish has been polished, it has wonderful warm golden brown patina and lots of antique character. Typical of intricate burl grain - there are tiny separations, bubbles and irregularities. There is slight fading to the finish in places, see photos.

Expertly adapted to fit standard modern queen size bedding as shown, overall measurements are 6' wide, 7' 4" long, the headboard is 51" tall and the footboard is 25" high.
