An American vintage classic, this breakfront china cabinet or bookcase is in wonderful original condition and dates from about 1950. The original finish is excellent on the gorgeous flame grain mahogany. There is subtle banding around the edges.
The upper section has glass behind grills in the doors, there are plate grooves in the shelves, and the center section has adjustable shelves. Brasses are original, drawers are dovetailed and finished inside. There is a pull-out writing desk with gold-tooled leather and tiny drawers and compartments.
Imposing and well proportioned, this is elegant and traditional furniture with warm and rich color. The upper section is removable for delivery, and measurements are 5 1/2' wide, 17" deep and 7' tall to the top of the gracefully arched crest.
