Palatial furniture in classical style, this hall console or server was hand carved in northern Italy about 1920. Solid walnut and cherry with matched burl panels, this imposing antique is in exceptional condition and remarkably well crafted.
The original finish is very well preserved with warm glowing patina, the top is revarnished. Tapered columns have Ionic capitals, borders are in high relief Greek design.
Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints, locks do not operate, keys are handles only. An engraved brass plate on the back is signed, "Baragiula di Enrico, Mobili Artistici, Cantu," a small town between Milan and Lake Como.
Measurements of this exquisite piece are 65" wide, 28" deep and 40" tall.
