A classical design solid oak bookcase was hand crafted in Scandinavia about 1910. Fluted columns have hand carved Ionic capitals. Raised panels and deep moldings are beautiful on this antique library furniture.
The original finish is in excellent condition, waxed and buffed so all that is needed to maintain the soft luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Original wavy glass panes have tiny flakes at the edges, see photos. Fine grained quarter sawn oak has delicate natural grain.
Exceptionally well constructed, hand cut dovetail joints are visible on the solid oak paneled back. This imposing bookcase is very heavy but can be disassembled. Locks have working keys, shelves adjust on wooden supports.
Measurements are 84 1/2" wide, 19" deep and 78" tall.
