Very well crafted by a skilled carpenter around 1890, this country pine sideboard or server is from Bohemia in Austria, now the Czech Republic.
The wax finish has warm antique patina, and preserves charming wear, mars and hand planing marks. Buffed to low sheen, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its luster.
A pull out shelf offers extra serving space. Raised panel doors have slight gaps from shrinkage, due to age. Behind are open shelves and a bank of drawers with inset pulls. Brass hardware is original, drawers have beautiful tiny hand cut dovetail joints.
Size of this European furniture is 38" wide, 20" deep and 37 1/2" tall.
