This country pine sideboard or server was hand carved in Austria around 1880.
The top has been revarnished for durability and stain resistance, the rest of the finish is waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm patina. Mars, stains and shrinkage separations from age make for lots of antique character.
There have been various restorations over the years, especially to the base. The left door is warped, so it needs to be pushed in to latch at the bottom. A lock and key still work on the right door, the drawer has hand cut dovetail joints.
Size of this multi-purpose furniture is 38" wide, 19" deep and 40 1/2" tall.
