Looking as though it came straight from a dining hall of Henry VIII's English country manor house, this magnificent carved oak huntboard was actually made in Sheboygan, WI about 1925!
The deeply carved Renaissance motifs and "linenfold" panels are authentic, the rich brown finish is superb, and the original craftsmen gently rounded the corners, and brasses were hand-hammered to give the look of centuries ago. It is solid and generously constructed. Brass plaques in the dovetailed drawers are signed "Northern Furniture, Sheboygan, WI."
This huntboard or small server was traditionally used for a cold supper buffet of cheeses and smoked meat and salmon after a day of hunting, and is also useful for drinks or dessert. Size is 3 1/2' long, 21" deep and 35" tall.
