An authentic late Georgian secretary desk from around 1830 was hand crafted of mahogany in England. The finish is in excellent condition with warm patina.
There are numerous restorations and repairs over the years as shown. This antique furniture is very serviceable and functional. Graduated drawers have solid oak sides and chamfered bottoms with hand cut dovetail joints.
Brasses are around 100 years old but not original. Pull out arms support the drop front, which has a working lock. Inside is a saddle leather writing surface plus tiny hand made drawers and cubicles. Cut nails and hand planing marks show expert craftsmanship on this historic desk with clean and well proportioned lines.
Measurements are 40 1/2" wide, 22" deep, 41" tall and the desktop is 31" high.
