Delicately hand-painted on black lacquer, this Georgian Chinese Chippendale style secretary desk with bookcase top is beautiful. Entirely original from the 1920's, this antique is signed by noted traditional maker, "Monitor of Jamestown, NY."
Supports extend automatically when the desk is opened, inside are cubicles. Lower drawers have serpentine fronts, feet are classic carved claw-and-ball design.
There is nice patina and some wear to the original finish, especially on the writing surface inside. Brasses are original. Shelves are adjustable in the bookcase. Wavy glass in the doors is original.
Measurements of this elegant furniture are 38" wide, 21" deep, 7' tall and the desktop is 30" high.
