Signed "Imperial of Evansville, Ind.," this rolltop desk dating from about 1900 is solid oak. The lustrous finish is excellent, and the desk is finished and paneled on all sides.
Deep drawers are dovetailed, there are 2 pull out shelves for extra workspace. The roll glides smoothly, inside are tiny cubicles and drawers plus pencil holders. Panels are reverse chamfered.
The lock operates but does not like to line up to actually lock. Size of this straightforward antique furniture is 4' wide, 30" deep, 44 1/2" tall and the writing surface is 30" high. Kneehole dimensions are 21 1/2" wide and 26 1/2" tall.
