A splendid Italian 1930's armoire has five doors. Solid walnut is hand carved with convex inlaid marquetry panels and curving moldings.
This elegant design is traditional from the Piedmont region around Milan. The original finish is in extremely fine condition and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Doors have lift off hinges and working locks and keys. This gracious closet or wardrobe disassembles for easier moving. Right and left sections have closet poles and shelves or drawers below, the center section has shelves and a dressing mirror. The finished mahogany interior is 22" deep. There is a scent of mothballs inside.
Measurements are 8' 6" wide at the crown, 7' tall and 25" deep,
