A magnificent Italian walnut desk was deeply hand carved about 1890 in the Renaissance manner with angels, lion heads and a dove with a peace branch. There are full sculpted figures at each corner.
The restored gleaming finish is in excellent condition on this palatial antique library furniture. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints. A carved three dimensional tableau on the front side is especially artistic.
Measurements are 71 1/2" long, 35" deep, 31 1/2" tall and the kneehole is 20" wide and 25 1/2" high.
