Lake Como Italian Antique Pair of Nightstands

A magnificent pair of marble top nightstands or bedside tables was carved in the 1930's for a lavish villa on Lake Como in northern Italy.
Matched walnut burl panels are stunning, tapered curly grain columns have carved capitals. Deeply sculpted moldings have classical motifs and this pair of nightstands has beautiful lines and proportions.
The satiny finish is excellent, enhancing the intricate natural wood grain. Richly grained marble tops are in superb condition. The removable mirrors have reverse etching, burnished gold frames have minor touchups. Brasses are original on this true right and left pair.
Dimensions of this palatial Italian antique furniture are 17" deep, 24" wide and 41" tall, the marble tops are 26" high.
Several of the pieces in this group have the logo of the dealer in the town of Cantu on beautiful Lake Como, celebrated for centuries for its palm trees and opulent villas.
