This combination drop-front secretary desk and bookcase is stunning.
The intricate inlaid marquetry and banding are exquisite in diagonally matched shimmering mahogany and rosewood. Cast bronze mounts are original from the 1920's. The desk dropfront is "bombe" or convex, interior is finished with tiny drawers.
Beautiful patina and gleaming finish are excellent on this vintage furniture. There are small shrinkage separations, especially left of center on the dropfront and on the top of the right side, see photos. Hand cut dovetails are visible in the oak drawer sides and on the back of the case.
Measurements are 5' wide, 14" deep and 49 1/2" tall, the writing surface is 31" high.
