Pine Primitive 1860's Antique Immigrant Trunk or Blanket Chest

Hand made in northern Europe about 1860 for an immigrant to bring to America, this country pine trunk or blanket chest has a fine old finish. Waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain its warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.

Hand hewn and planed, carved wooden pegs and hand cut dovetail joints secure this antique furniture. Wrought iron hardware is original, there is no key. There are losses and dings at the edges for a little character.

Size is 33" long, 18" deep and 19" tall.
