Renaissance Italian Antique Bookcase, Iron Grill Doors, Carved Dolphins #29328

A wonderful solid wormy walnut four door bookcase was hand carved in the Renaissance manner with richly detailed dolphins and gargoyle heads, and dates from about 1890 in northern Italy.

The original finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There are ripples and shrinkage separations from age, see photos.

Doors have wrought iron grills over glass. Four doors have working locks. This antique library furniture can be disassembled for easier delivery.

Size is 98" wide at the tip of the crown, 24" deep and 75" tall,interior depth is 15."
