Reuge Swiss Music Box Marquetry Jewelry Box

A signed "Reuge" Swiss music box plays when the lid of this lovely inlaid marquetry octagonal jewelry box is opened. Inside is a lift-out tray. The box plays beautifully - familiar minuets by Mozart and Boccherini.
All original from about 50 years ago, the Italian marquetry box incorporates delicate patterns in mahogany, ebony, elm burl and satinwood. There are only minute scratches or wear to the polished finish.
Eight brass paw feet support this elegant jewel chest, the key and lock are working. Size is 13" diameter and 4" tall.
