Used to bring all of one's belongings on the long journey to a new life, this immigrant chest or trunk has folk art rosemaling hand-painting.
- Norwegian antique furniture, probably part of a bride's dowry, dated 1777
- Very worn inscription of names is indecipherable
- Pine with hand cut dovetail joints
- Clear varnish preserves original art work, mars, losses, & shrinkage separations from age - see photos
- Original hand wrought iron hardware and hand hammered nails
