Semanier French Marble & Marquetry Lingerie Chest

This 1900 era French "Semanier," or "weekly" 7 drawer lingerie chest has a drawer for each day. Expert craftsmanship and beautiful European design is only part of the charm of this exquisite antique chest with a marble top.

Crafted with mahogany, tulipwood, satinwood and rosewood in intricate banding. Bronze mounts and feet are original. The original finish is in very fine condition

Elegantly shaped, the polished marble top is beautiful and in excellent condition with small flakes at the back edge. A key operates the all locks on this fine furniture. Solid oak-sided drawers have dovetails, they are finished inside to avoid snagging silks.

Size of this charming and very well made luxury furniture from France is 24" wide, 14" deep and 51 1/2" tall.
