This genuine Victorian antique sewing stand or table was hand crafted of solid walnut about 1880. The lid raises, showing tiny compartments and a flip-up pincushion in golden maple. This very solid furniture has dents and wear to the old finish, the table has various warps and irregularities, see photos. The lower drawer has handcut dovetails.
Charming and nostalgic, this table sat next to the mistress of the home's favorite chair to hold her needlework and sewing. Just imagine the beautiful sewing done late at night under the light of only a candle! Measurements are 21" wide, 16" deep and 32" tall.
