Made for a Victorian "princess" about 1895, a rare child size fainting couch or chaise lounge has a maple frame with a very fine finish.
The old upholstery has wear and has not been cleaned, there is dirt in the buttons of the deeply recessed tufting, see photos.
Although it looks like furniture used by Freud for child psychoanalysis, it is actually American made. There are porcelain casters.
Size of this picturesque antique is 21" wide, 51" long and 17" high.
