Victorian Eastlake Antique Cylinder Roll Top Secretary Desk & Bookcase
A late Victorian or Eastlake period cylinder roll top secretary desk with a bookcase top was carved of solid walnut with burl panels about 1880.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique library furniture. A pull out writing surface is inlaid with saddle leather.
Drawers have round "pin and cove" dovetail joints, characteristic of the era. Bookcase doors have original wavy glass and adjustable shelves, this section is removable for easier delivery.
The roll top has matched burl and glides smoothly. Inside are tiny cubicles and drawers for papers.
Measurements are 40" wide, 24" deep, 91" tall and the desk top is 29" high.
