A Victorian gateleg dropleaf table from about 1870 has many uses - breakfast, dining, serving or as a sofa table.
Hand crafted of solid walnut with delicate details on the base, the top is gorgeous matched "oyster" burl. The gleaming top has warm antique patina and has been revarnished for durability, the base and marvelous spiral columns are original and very well preserved. Porcelain wheels are original on this enchanting historic furniture from England.
The top forms a true oval shape, drop leaves rest on strong "gate legs," which swing out on carved wooden hinges. With drops in the down position, size is 35 1/2" long, 18" wide and 28 1/2" tall. With both leaves raised, the top is 41 1/2" x 35 1/2" overall.
