A lavish Victorian tilting water pitcher has its original stand, hand engraved by famous silversmith "Pairpoint Quadruple Plate" of Massachusetts. This lavish 1880's server has signicant wear to the silver plate and a dent, detached lid plus pieces of filigree, see photos.
The removable drip catcher tray has a bird motif. This double wall insulating pitcher is an early form of Thermos, with a screw cap on the bottom to drain condensation.
When the kettle is tilted, there is a base to set a goblet or glass to pour into. Overall size of this lovely antique is 9" x 13" at the base and 21" tall.
