A "carriage" clock was a portable luxury timepiece, taken on carriage or train voyages.
This solid brass model is signed "Ch. Hour, France, 6 Jewels." Dating from about 1910, this superior quality clock keeps excellent time for a week and and a half on a winding.
Beveled glass panes on all sides are original, viewing the finely machined brass movement. The hand painted porcelain dial is also signed "France."
Measurements are 3 1/4" wide, 2 1/2" deep and 5" tall with the handle folded down.
