A statue of a "Forgeron," French for blacksmith, is fitted as a lamp, often intended for the newel post at the base of a staircase. This early 1900's antique sculpture from France captures the strong working man as he hammers a piece of iron on his anvil. We find no signature on this antique light.
The work of art is cast "spelter" alloy metal, similar to pewter, with an original dark bronze finish. Three standard base porcelain sockets are rewired with a switch on the cord, any style of bulb could be used.
Measurements are 14" wide, 10" deep and 25" tall.
