A wonderful solid walnut bookcase was hand carved with rich detail and lion heads about 1890 in northern Italy.
The original finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Doors have wrought iron grills and smokey stained glass. Three separate banks of shelves adjust on wooden supports and keys operate the locks. This antique library furniture can be disassembled for easier delivery.
Size is 86" long, 20" deep and 74" tall, it will accommodate books up to 12" deep.
