A signed Edison "Fireside" model cylinder phonograph has an oak case and latest patent date of 1905. The horn is signed "Cygnet No. 10, patented 1907."
This antique record player has been professionally cleaned, serviced and lubricated, and plays very well. Because of the delicate balance of the large horn, it does skip sometimes on the record. A group of 4 minute cylinder records is included as shown. A knob at the left must be pulled out for 4 minute records. (When pushed in, 2 minute records can be played, but a 2 minute reproducer must be installed.)
The case has its original finish in very good condition with a few mars and wear for character. Original pinstriping has some wear on black porcelain enamel on cast iron mounts. The crane hanging assembly is replaced.
The case alone measures 12" x 9" and 9" tall, the horn has original paint and is 19" across.
