From the Victorian Renaissance period about 1870, this stately secretary desk with bookcase top was carved of solid walnut with matched burl panels. The bookcase has old wavy glass doors and adjustable shelves.
The old finish has warm antique patina and is in very fine condition on this American made antique library furniture. Drawers have round or "pin and cove" dovetail joints.
The drop front rests on pull out supports, inside are tiny cubicles and drawers, the writing surface is new saddle leather.
Only the upper doors have a working lock and key, other keys are handles only, those locks do not work. For easier delivery, the bookcase is a separate piece.
Measurements are 46" wide, 21" deep and 91" tall, the desk top is 31" high.
