Richly carved in the French manner, this dining set includes a table with two leaves and six newly upholstered chairs from about 60 years ago. No signature survives, but we recognize the distinctive style by "Romweber of Indiana," which made furniture for the White House and innumerable celebrities.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on acacia, mahogany and maple hardwoods. Matched burl panels and lavish carving are beautiful on this American made vintage furniture. Center legs give the table extra support when extended.
Table size is 44" wide, 30" tall, legroom is about 25" and length when closed is 64," with both original 16" wide leaves in place, length is 96" overall.
Large chairs are reglued to serve another generation, and are newly upholstered in a fine Italian fabric. Two arm chairs are 26" wide, 25" deep, 45" tall and seats are 20" high. Four side chairs measure 22" wide, 25" deep and 43" tall.
