Dome Top Antique 1830 Oak Trunk or Pirate Chest, Iron Bindings #31010

This "pirate chest" style trunk was hand crafted of solid oak with hand wrought iron banding, handles and hinges about 1830 in northern Europe. The lock is lost.

The old finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos. Iron latches have locking levers. The interior is painted wallpaper.

Size is 47" wide, 24" deep and 27".
