Hand crafted of pine in Scandinavia, this immigrant trunk or chest would make a fascinating coffee table. The hand painted inscription is a name and misspelled destination, "Minnesota," dated "1868." Corners have hand-cut dovetails and iron reinforcements. Square cut nails are visible.
The original red paint finish is charmingly worn with great antique patina and has been waxed and buffed. There are shrinkage separations and losses, see photos
