A Victorian period set of six knives and six forks together with a "Fish Slice" serving knife and fork are lavishly engraved silverplate with English hallmarks and genuine carved Mother of Pearl handles. Dating from about 1900, these lovely pieces are in excellent condition.
The mahogany chest has nickel latches and a worn silk lining with a gold crest from the jeweler, located in Melbourne, England, a small town near Nottingham in central England. Size is 16" wide, 14" deep and 2" tall.
The magnificent serving knife is just over 12" long and the serving fork is 9" long. Individual knives measure 7 1/4" long, forks are 6 1/4" long.
