This monumental bookcase from about 1890 was hand carved in Italy of solid oak in the Renaissance manner. There are full figure statues, fluted columns with Ionic capitals and deeply sculpted panels. There are old labels from a Paris storage company.
The original finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain its warm luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Doors have beveled glass on this antique library furniture. There is a key for the door locks only.
Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and original pulls. There are three separate banks of adjustable shelves, and this historic cabinet disassembles into manageable pieces for delivery.
Measurements are 99" tall, 20" deep and 98" wide.
