A traditional wood block print of a seated lady playing the koto musical instrument dates from around 1840, and is signed by famed Japanese artist, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, 1797-1861.
This work of art on paper has a crease, wear and some discoloration, see photos. Subtle coloration and delicate inscriptions are lovely.
The glass has a reverse painted black and gold mat, the dark gold carved frame has a little wear as shown.
Overall size is 14 1/2" x 19" and 1" deep.
