Item# 35114
A Sheraton period schoolmaster's desk has a slant top with a gallery, and was hand crafted in New York State about 1825 and would be useful as a Bible or dictionary stand. There are flame grain mahogany panels on this solid walnut and cherry desk. Inside are tiny drawers and storage under the lift lid.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture, made with square cut nails. The drawer has hand-cut dovetail joints, a chamfered bottom, and original wooden threaded knobs.
Measurements are 35" wide, 22" deep, and 34" tall. The top slopes up from 29" at the front, and leg room is just 20".
