A wonderful solid oak bed from the Art Nouveau period about 1900 has been adapted to fit a standard queen size mattress as shown.
Cherries are carved by a master craftsman in relief, the way marble is carved. Delicate fluted moldings roll into the vine motif.
There is an understated inlaid marquetry of pewter, brass, pearl and ebony. This historic design is called "Jugenstil" in Austria, where this antique furniture was expertly crafted.
The finish is excellent on fine grained oak, with a graceful curved crown. Measurements are 84" long, 63" wide, the headboard is 56" tall and the footboard is 34" high.
