A 1860 era country pine "chimney" or silver cupboard from Holland has many uses, the narrow size fits a typical niche next to a chimney.
The finish is very fine with warm patina, it has been waxed and buffed so all that is needed to maintain its glow is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There is lots of character - mars at the edges plus shrinkage separations from age, see photos.
Hand carved with folk detailing, exposed hand cut dovetail joinery on the drawer and the top plus wooden pegs at the joints show expert rustic workmanship.
The locks still work to protect silver. Size is 25" wide, 16" deep and 58" tall. Raised panels are hand carved as well.
