A rocking bench from the mid to late 1800's was hand crafted in traditional Connecticut "Hitchcock" style. The well worn finish has stenciling and striping, the antique character has been preserved with a coat of clear lacquer.
Hand planing marks are visible everywhere, arms are maple. Joints have hand cut wooden pegs on this strong and durable American country furniture. Runners were flattened a little on the bottom as shown, but this rocker bench still rocks comfortably.
Size is 51" long, 25" deep, 30" tall and the seat is 15" high.
Item # K-B4486
