New England Cherry & Curly Tiger Maple 1830's Full Size Rope Bed
Hand carved in New England about 1830, this solid cherry and tiger or curly maple rope bed has been adapted to full size.
The finish is in excellent condition preserving mars and dings for character on this American made poster bed. Modern steel rails and wood cross slats are included to fit a standard full or double size mattress, 12" thick including a thin pallet or "bunky board" as in photos.
Originally, the "spring" was a rope threaded over round rails on the sides and ends.
Measurements of this picturesque antique furniture are 83" long, 55" wide, the headboard is 42" tall and the foot board is 36" high.
