Signed "W. Kimball of Chicago," this 1920's architect, drawing or artist desk has an adjustable writing surface.
Solid oak school furniture, the finish is in excellent condition, preserving lots of stains and mars for antique character. An iron mechanism supports the lid flat or angled upward for drawing. The drawer has dovetailed joints. Used in a Chicago school, there are six drawing compartments for the six periods of the school day, one for each student.
Interior size is 18" deep, 11" tall and 2" wide. Overall dimensions are 35" wide, 20" deep, 31" tall when flat, up to 41" high when the top is raised.
