Black Forest furniture had some of the most skilled artisans in Europe creating pieces that were sought after by royalty and wealthy aristocrats. This pair of hall or throne chairs may have been commissioned for a palace or grand estate, where they would've been greatly admired by guests.
- 1900s antique European furniture made in the Black Forest, where Germany, Switzerland and France meet
- Exceptional hand carved solid oak with delightful detailed berry & leaf motifs plus spiral columns
- Original finish has been waxed and buffed, preserving minor mars. All that is needed to maintain the soft luster is an occasional wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
- Shrinkage separations from age - see photos
- Older ruby red velvet upholstery has some wear - see photos
- Patinated brass nailhead trim
Size is 28.5" wide, 28" deep and 52" tall. Seats are 20" deep and 20" high.
