Hand carved for a fortunate Victorian child about 1860, an exceptionally and comfortable "Windsor" design arm chair is solid fruit wood, oak and ash hardwoods.
Expertly hand carved in England, the original finish has beautiful patina and lots of character, wear and mars, see photos. The deeply sculpted single plank seat, curved and angled back and wide arms are the reasons this chair is so relaxing and cozy to sit in.
Along with beauty of design, these reasons explain why Windsors have been made continuously for 300 years. Distinctively turned legs and cross braces in the base are strong and sturdy.
Measurements of this princeling's favorite chair are 21" wide, 24" deep, 32" tall and the seat is 14" high.
