An authentic late Victorian or Eastlake secretary desk has a bookcase top with original wavy glass doors. Solid walnut with burl panels, the gleaming finish is excellent.
Inside the locking drop front, there are tiny cubbyholes and drawers with lots of character - mars and wear. Bookcase shelves are adjustable on wooden supports, the upper section is a separate piece for easier moving.
Incised "spoon" carving is characteristic of the period, about 1885. Drawers are dovetailed on this American antique furniture.
Dimensions are 41" wide, 21" deep, 6' 9" tall and the drop front desk when open is 29" high.
