Architectural salvage from the 1890's, a Victorian period fireplace mantel and surround is carved of white marble, and includes an iron filigree insert with a golden bronze finish.
The hearth, mantel shelf and keystone are removable, the rest of the surround is mounted permanently to a wooden frame underneath, so this is decorative only.
Tiny angels or cherubs are embossed into the fire insert. The marble has stains and chips plus various repairs and has been polished and sealed - see photos.
American made, the insert burner was intended for gas, but would not meet modern codes. This graceful antique measures 62" wide, 45 1/2" tall, the mantel shelf is 12" deep, and from the wall to the front of the hearth is 21."
