This stately "pier," hall or foyer mirror is solid oak with elm burl and dates from the Victorian period about 1880.
The old finish is in excellent condition with warm antique patina. Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its luster.
Hand carved detailing is artistic on this American made furniture. The shelf is genuine onyx semi-precious stone with beautiful natural graining, polished and sealed to resist stains.
Below the deeply sculpted crown are three small original beveled mirrors. The plate glass mirror is slightly wavy and appears original, with a little golden "smoke" to show its age.
Size is 30 1/2" wide at the crown, 27" wide at the base, 10 1/2" deep and 7' 10 1/2" tall. See 26 photos on Harp Gallery website that enlarge to full screen size.
