Carved Italian Antique 1890 Queen Size Bedroom Set

An outstanding hand carved bedroom set includes a queen size bed, pair of marble top bedside chests or nightstands and a marble top chest or dresser with mirror.

The rich satiny finish is excellent everywhere, the mahogany wood has beautiful grain and matched panels. Outstanding artistry is richly detailed in this luxurious furniture from Turin in northern Italy.

The bed has figural sculptures flanking the footboard. Skillfully adapted to standard modern queen size as shown in photos, the mattress and spring shown are 16" thick. Bed measurements are 88" long, 69" wide, headboard is 51" tall and the footboard is 40" high.

The chest or dresser has a original marble top with a silken polish and a professional repair at the left front corner. Large drawers have hand cut dovetail joints, the removable mirror has a marvelous carved and pierced crest. Measurements are 50" wide, 24" deep, 84" tall, and the marble top is 39" high.

Nightstands are a true left and right pair. One marble top has fine hairline cracks that never broke, but as a preventative measure, steel rods were inset underneath with epoxy to strengthen the stone. There are minor stains, see photos. Each is 20" wide, 15" deep and 34" tall.
