Signed "Chatham of Detroit and Chatham, Ontario," this 1910 trunk was originally an ice box, functional today as a coffee table or blanket chest.
The insulation is now gone, but the tin bottom remains. An original grain painted finish is well worn, it has been waxed so all that is needed to maintain its antique patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Brass latches are original and the top has a raised panel.
Measurements are 37" wide, 16" deep and 16" tall including removable wheels.
