A classic "linen press," closet or armoire was hand crafted in England about 1890 of solid fine grained oak. The old finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so that all it needs to maintain its luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There are mars and small losses at the edges for antique character, see photos.
Doors have reverse raised panels and a working lock. Drawers and linen trays have beautiful hand cut dovetail joints. The pediment crown has a flame shaped finial.
This historic and functional furniture is two separate pieces for easier moving. Measurements are 50" wide, 23" deep and 7' 1 1/2" tall.
